Restock monitors

A monitor is a task that only watches stock. When the product comes back, it starts your checkout tasks for that product. Your checkout tasks sit idle until then, so they don’t burn proxies while there’s nothing to buy.

The monitor waits for stock. When it lands, the two checkout tasks under it start.
  1. Create your checkout tasks as normal. Put them in one task group.

  2. Click New task again. Pick the same store and the same product, and set Type to Monitor. Save it into the same task group.

  3. Start the monitor. Leave the checkout tasks stopped.

The monitor’s product shows a Monitor · 2 badge, where the number counts the tasks it will start. Click the arrow on the monitor’s row to show or hide those tasks.

Type only appears for stores that support monitoring. At the moment that’s Argos and John Lewis.

A monitor starts a checkout task when all of these are true:

  • It’s in the same task group as the monitor.
  • It’s for the same store and the same product.
  • It isn’t already running, disabled, or finished with a checkout.
  • You haven’t stopped it by hand.
  • Set the monitor’s Monitor (ms) on the Advanced tab to control how often it checks. Lower is faster to react but uses your proxies harder.
  • A monitor works well with a schedule. The schedule starts the monitor first, and the monitor starts the rest when stock lands.
