Your licence

Your licence is what lets the bot sign in. It belongs to your Discord account. You manage it on the dashboard, and the bot’s Home page shows how long it has left.

There are two ways in:

  • Subscribe on the dashboard. You pay monthly through Stripe, and your licence is ready as soon as the payment goes through.
  • Redeem a code on the dashboard’s Redeem page, if you’ve been given one. The code adds days to your licence.

You can hold one licence at a time. Sharing or reselling your key ends your access without a refund.

A subscription renews every month by itself. Stripe takes the payment on your renewal date, and your licence carries on. You don’t need to do anything.

On the dashboard you’ll see two dates:

Date What it means
Renews When Stripe takes the next payment.
Expires Your renewal date plus 2 days. That’s the buffer for a payment that needs a retry.

Licences from a code, or given to you by staff, don’t renew. They simply run out on their expiry date. Redeem another code or subscribe before then.

The bot’s licence card on Home turns amber when 7 days or fewer are left. The dashboard does the same at 3 days.

Stripe tries the payment again over the next few days. Your licence stays active until 2 days after the renewal date. If the payment still hasn’t gone through by then, the licence expires.

Check the card on your Stripe subscription with Manage billing on the dashboard.

  1. The bot stops. Within about a minute, the bot loses its connection to our licence server and your tasks stop. Your Discord role is removed soon after.

  2. You have 7 days to renew. Renew within 7 days of the expiry date and you keep the same licence. The new time counts from the day you renew.

  3. After 7 days, the licence is removed. This can’t be undone. Subscribing again gets you a new licence, starting from scratch, subject to availability.

The 7-day rule applies to every licence, including ones from codes. It’s there so an expired licence can’t be held on to and sold or revived later.

Cancel from Manage billing on the dashboard. You keep the time you’ve paid for. The dashboard shows “Cancellation scheduled” and the date your access ends.

  1. Sign in to the dashboard and open Redeem.

  2. Enter the code. Its days are added to your licence.

If your licence has already expired, the days count from today. Each code can be used once per person, and codes can have their own expiry date.

While your licence is active, you have the member role in our Discord server. The role comes off when the licence expires and goes back on when you renew. Changes reach Discord within a few minutes.

The Home page shows your licence:

The card says Meaning
12 days left Time until the licence expires.
Expires today Renew now, or the bot stops today.
Unlimited A staff licence. It never expires.

Each time you sign in, the bot checks your licence. With an expired licence you’ll see:

Your licence has expired. Renew at yoghurtbot.io to carry on.

If Sign in automatically is on, the bot stops at the sign-in screen with that message instead of signing you in.

The bot stays in touch with our licence server while it runs. If your internet drops, the connection light shows what’s happening:

State What it means
Connected Everything is normal.
Reconnecting Tasks keep running for about 20 minutes while the bot reconnects.
Paused No contact for too long. New tasks won’t start.

A short drop won’t stop a checkout that’s already running.
